Scan Technique: Using a multi-detector scanner, 0.625 mm axial scans of the temporal bone were acquired using a high-resolution bone technique.  The scans were retrospectively targeted for right and left side, and subsequently reconstructed in the [coronal, whatever] plane, again targeting the right and left sides individually, as well as the entire skull base.  Both axial and coronal images were reviewed on the workstation.

Findings:

The right temporal bone has a [normal, abnormal appearance].  The middle ear cleft is [ ] and the ossicles are [ ].  The cochlea, vestibule, vestibular and cochlear acqueduct are [normal, remarkable for whatever].  The facial nerve canal is [ ].  The semicircular canals are [ ].  The internal auditory canal is [ ].

The external auditory canal and mastoid air cells are [ ].  The carotid canal and jugular foramen are [ ].  The temporomandibular joint is [ ].
